Walt Disney World: Magic Kingdom

“The Most Magical Place on Earth.” As Disney’s tagline implies, a trip here transforms all who visit to a place where animals talk, toys come to life, and fairies really do exist. Both adults and children share the wonder that Disney World provides, making this THE quintessential family trip.

For the inexperienced, it can be overwhelming, but the end result is amazement. Both Mom and I have visited countless number of times as children and were regular visitors even prior to our 3 being born. The beauty of Walt Disney World is that there is something for everyone.

Everyone’s starting place should be the Magic Kingdom. It is the most iconic of the 4 theme parks and the most visited of all of the Disney properties hosting greater than 20 million visitors a year! The Magic Kingdom features Cinderella’s Castle as the anchor with 6 unique surrounding areas including: Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Adventureland, Liberty Square, and Mickey’s Toontown Fair. In addition to attractions, rides, and character meet and greets, the Magic Kingdom features several parades and interactive experiences all throughout the day.

A visit to the Magic Kingdom is an all day affair. Walt Disney World allows you to bring in snacks and drinks (with some exceptions). Whether it is your children’s favorite snacks, or you are just looking to save a few bucks, prepping yourself for these longer days is crucial to make the most of your experience. Another pro tip, Disney cast members are always willing to take pictures using your camera; this includes the official Disney photographers that are set up throughout the park. This makes for some great picture opportunities and is one of many things that sets Disney apart from other theme parks.

The Magic Kingdom (and all Disney World parks) offers a Baby Care Center that provides a quiet space to get away from the buzz of the day to change diapers and refresh. This is a spot that could easily be missed and sits between Casey’s Corner and The Crystal Palace restaurant. As opposed to a bathroom stall or a park bench, the baby center is air conditioned and has toys, games, and movies to keep the kids entertained when rest is needed. Additionally, the Baby Care Center provides a semi-private nursing room with numerous rocking chairs.

As previously mentioned, we have visited the Magic Kingdom on numerous occasions. It wasn’t until we visited as parents that we were able to truly experience the magic of Disney World. The cast members truly go out of their way to make a child’s experience magical. Whether it is commenting on a child’s outfit or stopping to dance and interact with them, Disney’s customer service is second to none. From the moment you enter the gates, hearing the whistle of the Walt Disney World Railroad, be prepared to be amazed!
